Opening Day at the
59th Annual Atlanta Buck Pole Contest
Wednesday  November 15th, 2006
This years Buck Pole went over as fine as one could ever imagine.  25 deer were officially entered into the contest which was a record number in quite a few years.  John Lipka of Howell took the trophy for largest rack with his 170lb, 19 inch spread / 10-pointer, giving him a 146 3/8 score. (rough Green scoring)    Randy Berry of New Boston took the heaviest buck trophy with his whopping 186lb 8 point buck.  This tied our recent weight record from the 2004 buck pole contest.  Thank you's to all the hunters that participated in this years contest. You all helped make a beautiful display for us all to enjoy!
Thank you to the workers and to the Atlanta Chamber of Commerce for pulling this off!
