Synopsis of Contest

The Elk Pole Contest lured many out to view the lucky hunters bounty despite the constant rain all day that turned to snow by dusk.
Tim Granholm of Gaylord won trophies and prizes for two catagories. Heaviest Elk (700lbs) and largest rack ( 47" right beam length / 45" left beam length / 40" inside spread)    This Elk was only 12 lbs shy of previous 712 lb record for the Atlanta Elk Pole Contest.     Tim was suprised to recieve prizes with the trophies.  His eyes were already gleaming in delight from his trophy Elk. The muzzle loader and the elk afghan were indeed cherries on the elk cake!
Gordon & Rick Ferguson (father & son) have donated their time and equipment since the beginning days of the contest. A sincere "thankyou" to Gordon and Rick for their years of help!!!
